The Mansory RS6 Build:
When Every Upgrade Demands Protection That Can Keep Up

The car that came through our doors

Before
a single product was opened or a tool was picked up, we just stood and took it
in. The RS6 Avant is already a remarkable machine in stock form. Wide, planted,
and carrying that unmistakable Audi aggression wrapped in the practicality of
an estate. But this one was something else entirely. The Mansory widebody kit
had transformed the proportions into something closer to a racing prototype
than a family wagon. The gold MVForged wheels sat deep in the arches. The
lowering module had it sitting at exactly the right ride height, close to the
ground, purposeful, almost impatient.
And
that color. Bentley Midnight Metallic Green Individual is not a color you
order from a brochure. It is a color you commission. Under the shop lights it
shifted from deep emerald to something closer to black, the flake catching and
releasing light with every angle. This was going to be a project that demanded
our best work at every single stage.
"This was not a car that needed improving. It was a car that needed protecting, completely and without compromise."
Understanding the full scope of the build

Before
we could plan the protection process, we had to understand every element of the
build we were working with. A car like this is not just a vehicle with some
aftermarket parts. It is a carefully assembled collection of decisions, each
one representing a significant investment of time, money, and taste. To protect
it properly, we needed to understand exactly what we were protecting.
Here
is the complete picture of what makes up this RS6.

The performance upgrades that make this RS6 what it is
Every
modification on this car was chosen with intention. Nothing here is decorative
for its own sake. The performance upgrades work together as a system, each one
unlocking more of what the RS6 platform is genuinely capable of.

AKRAPOVIC Exhaust system: Akrapovic is the name in performance exhausts. Titanium construction, obsessive engineering, and a sound that turns every cold start into an event. On the 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 in the RS6, an Akrapovic system does not just improve the soundtrack. It reduces weight and improves exhaust flow in ways that work hand in hand with the rest of the performance upgrades on this build.

EVENTURI Intake system: Where the Akrapovic system hanles what comes out, the Eventuri intake handles what goes in. Eventuri's carbon fiber intake systems are engineered specifically for each platform, creating a sealed air box environment that dramatically improves intake efficiency and throttle response. On a build already pushing the limits of the engine, clean, dense, unrestricted air is exactly what the turbos need.

WAGNER TUNING Performance components: Wagner Tuning's intercooler and charge pipe upgrades are a foundational part of any serious RS6 build. Keeping intake temperatures down under hard driving means the engine can sustain peak power more consistently, without the thermal throttling that limits stock setups. On a car that is likely being driven the way this one looks, that matters.

MILLTEK Downpipes: Milltek's downpipes work at the heart of the exhaust system, improving flow directly from the turbos. Paired with the Akrapovic system further downstream, the result is a complete exhaust path that lets the engine breathe far more freely than the factory setup ever allowed. This is where power gains start.

Active Suspension Control (ASC) LOWERING MODULE: The ASC lowering module brings the RS6 down to a ride height that matches the visual aggression of the Mansory kit. Sitting lower in the arches, the relationship between the widebody bodywork and the MVForged wheels reads exactly as it should. This is the detail that makes the stance feel resolved rather than accidental.

MVForged wheels and Custom Brake Calipers
The MVForged wheels deserve a moment of their own. Forged wheels at this level are not an upgrade you make for looks alone, though the looks speak for themselves. The reduction in unsprung rotational mass that comes with a proper forged wheel improves steering response, ride quality, and braking performance in ways you feel immediately. On a car this wide, with this much power, the right wheel is not cosmetic. It is structural to the way the car behaves.
The custom painted brake calipers add a visual anchor beneath the spokes, a detail that pulls the whole wheel and arch relationship together. It is the kind of finishing touch that separates a build that has been thought through from one that has simply been bolted together.

ASKCarbon Bespoke Custom Steering Wheel
Inside the cabin, the custom ASKCarbon steering wheel build brings the driver environment up to the same standard as everything happening outside. The steering wheel is your primary point of contact with the car. On a build where every other element has been elevated, a stock wheel is a disconnect. The custom build here ensures that the moment you sit down, the intention of the entire project is communicated immediately, through your hands.
What makes an ASKCarbon wheel special is not just the finished product. It is the process that gets you there. Working with ASKCarbon is a genuine consultation, not a catalog order. You are not picking from a preset list of options and waiting for a box to show up. You are sitting down with a team that understands what a steering wheel needs to feel like for someone who drives at this level, and working through every single material decision together.
The carbon fiber weave, the leather grade and color, the stitching pattern, the alcantara zones, the paddle shifter style, the grip thickness, the button layout if applicable. Every element is hand picked through a back and forth process that is as much about understanding how the owner drives and what the car represents as it is about aesthetics. The result is a wheel that could not have come from anyone else's build because it was designed entirely around this one.
On this RS6, with Bentley Midnight Metallic Green paint, gold MVForged wheels, and a Mansory body, the interior needed a centerpiece that matched the level of thought that had gone into everything else. The ASKCarbon wheel delivered exactly that. The moment your hands find the rim, you know you are sitting in something that was built with complete intention from the outside in.

"Every element had been specified, sourced, and installed to a standard most cars will never come close to. Our job was to make sure the protection matched."
The paint: why Bentley Midnight Metallic Green changes
everything
Bentley Midnight Metallic Green from the Individual program
is not a standard paint option. It is a bespoke color developed for Bentley's
own coach-built vehicles and made available through the Individual
personalization program. The flake density and multilayer application process
give this paint a depth that simply does not photograph the same way it looks
in person. Move around the car in the right light and you will see why the
owner chose it.
That depth is also what makes this paint uniquely demanding
to protect. The multilayer structure and color shift characteristics mean that
any surface defect catches and scatters light far more noticeably than on a
flat color. Getting this paint to a perfect state before applying film was not
optional. It was the foundation everything else depended on.
Full paint refinement: the work before the work
Before a single panel of XPEL went on, our team worked
through a full paint refinement process across the entire vehicle. Under high
intensity inspection lighting, the Midnight Metallic Green revealed what all
deep, flake-rich paints eventually reveal under proper scrutiny: fine swirl
marks, micro scratches from previous washing, and surface contamination that
had bonded to the clear coat over time.
We worked panel by panel, using machine polishing compounds
staged from cutting to finishing, until the surface was exactly right. With a
color this complex, there is no shortcut. The flake reflects light in every
direction, which means any remaining imperfection does the same. We kept going
until there was nothing left to find.
This stage matters for a reason beyond aesthetics. Anything
trapped beneath the XPEL film when it goes on stays there. A contaminant. A
scratch. A polishing haze. It gets sealed in and magnified by the clarity of
the film above it. The paint refinement stage is not preparation for the
protection. It is protection in its own right.

"Any contaminants or scratches trapped beneath
the film get sealed in permanently. There is no fixing it after the fact."
Complete XPEL Paint Protection Film coverage
With the paint in perfect condition, we moved into full XPEL
PPF installation across every exposed surface of the vehicle. On a standard
production car, this is already a precise multi-day process. On a Mansory
widebody build, the complexity multiplies significantly.
The Mansory kit changes the geometry of almost every panel
on the car. The wider arches sit at different angles. The revised front bumper
has additional splitter elements and opening geometries that standard film
templates do not account for. The carbon fiber components throughout the build
require specific surface preparation to ensure proper film adhesion without
disturbing the weave or the finish beneath. Every single edge on this car was
handled individually, pattern by pattern, panel by panel.
The result is seamless coverage across the entire vehicle,
with edges that tuck cleanly and film that sits flush with the surface rather
than lifting at corners. On a car this striking, the protection has to be
invisible. Anything less would undermine everything the build represents.

XPEL XR+ ceramic window tint
The final layer of protection came in the form of XPEL XR+
ceramic window tint throughout. XR+ is not standard tint. The ceramic
construction delivers genuine infrared heat rejection, keeping the interior
significantly cooler without relying on heavy darkness in the film. In Virginia
Beach, where summer temperatures and coastal UV can be relentless, this is a
meaningful upgrade for the interior materials and for the comfort of everyone
inside the car. The visual finish is clean and consistent with the overall
aesthetic of the build.

"Projects like this represent the intersection of
performance engineering and preservation craftsmanship. When the build
investment reaches this tier, protection becomes mission-critical, not
optional."
What a project like this means for our work:
Builds at this level are why our team does what we do. Every
stage of this project demanded precision, patience, and a complete
understanding of the materials and surfaces we were working with. The Mansory
geometry. The Individual paint. The carbon fiber elements throughout. The
custom components that standard film patterns were never designed for. None of
it came with a template. All of it required us to bring our best and that's what Simple Details strives for with each project.
When the RS6 left our Virginia Beach shop, it was carrying
every upgrade it arrived with, plus a layer of protection designed to preserve
all of it for years to come. The Akrapovic exhaust will still be singing. The
MVForged wheels will still be turning. The Bentley Midnight Metallic Green will
still be shifting and catching the light the way it is supposed to. That is the
point of protection at this level.
If you are planning a widebody build, a carbon fiber heavy project, a fully modified exotic, or simply want your car color-changed or protected with PPF with protection that scales with the complexity of the vehicle, our team at Simple Details VA in Virginia Beach is ready to talk through what the right scope looks like for your car.
